Amulundu C is a Clinical Psychologist with 22 years’ experience in psychological assessments and addiction science. She is a doctoral candidate at the School of Medicine, University of Nairobi. Currently the coordinator Alcohol & Drug Abuse Prevention program at University of Nairobi. She has made presentations in two international addiction science conferences in Nairobi (ISSUP, December 2018) and San Francisco (SPR May 2019). Catherine has research interest in the use of technology (mHealth) in prevention science and substance use among adolescents and young adults. She is the founder and clinical director of Fountain of Hope Rehabilitation center for persons with substance use disorders management
Majority (74.63 %) of University students, have not started to use alcohol and psychoactive substances by the time they join the university. However, (25.37%) have experimented with psychoactive substances. This calls for intervention strategies which target both of these categories. So as to educate those who have not started use, not start and those already using, stop using or they do not progress to problematic use
